This shop specializes in intricate machine embroidery, I had some very beautiful pieces done here. To communicate we had to use all possible resources, even my meagre knowledge of Arabic, which the shop owner understood because he, like tens of thousands of Pakistani men, has been working in some Arab country for a few years. My Urdu is limited to only a few words, just what I remember from times long past, and from related Indian languages. It seems to me that English nowadays isn't spoken as widely in Pakistan as it used to be. | |
